JSL ART GALLERY SHOW OPENING! Multi-media artist Cristopher - TopicsExpress

JSL ART GALLERY SHOW OPENING! Multi-media artist Cristopher Cichockis solo exhibition Inversion opens with a reception for the artist from 4 to 7 p.m. this Thursday (October 2) at the Juanita Salazar Lowe Art Gallery. Come by, see the exhibit, and meet an up-and-coming artist with a big artistic voice. Parking will be free during the reception. Please encourage friends, family, and students to attend! The exhibit will be on view through October 29. In short: This exhibit will take you to a place youve never been to before. You must experience the environment that Cristopher has created as it will provoke all kinds of poetic and reactionary thoughts. At least this is my personal view. Attend the exhibition so you can form your own ideas about the artwork. Based in the Coachella Valley, Cristopher has produced artwork in response to surrounding desert regions spanning from Joshua Tree to the Salton Sea for over a decade. Cristopher defines his work as New Earth Art. The artist bridges correlations of water, life and survival with his use of organic and synthetic materials, some of which are actual fish, water, sand and barnacles found from the Salton Sea. Inversion includes a multi-sensory environment in a variety of media: painting, sculpture, photography, video and sound. Cichockis work is a reflection on mankind and nature in which he introduces elements of mutation and transformation. Recent exhibitions by Cristopher Cichocki include: Desert Abyss: Cycle in Cycle, Palm Springs Art Museum, Palm Springs, CA; Rojo Nova, Casa França Brasil, Rio de Janerio, Brazil; Time Based Art Festival, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art, Portland, OR; Full Pull, Inter Arts Center, Malmö, Sweden; Rojo Nova, Museum of Image and Sound, Sao Paulo, Brazil; Remains in the End Times, The Popular Workshop, San Francisco, CA; Epicenter, See Line Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Being Here & There, Lancaster Museum of Art & History, Lancaster, CA; Circulation, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA I hope to see you 4-7 p.m. this Thursday!
