JUDAS ISCARIOT SYNDROME! PART 1 Canker Worms Eating the 21st Century Church Series Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda; Pretoria, South Africa! Joel 1:4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the canker worm eaten; and that which the canker worm hath left hath the caterpillar eaten. As we get towards the end of this series, we need to look at some more cankerworms eating the church in this century. We take a look at a very serious cankerworm that has attacked the most spiritual churches and reduced them to nothing. Its worthy noting that this cankerworm has reduced spiritual giants to grasshoppers. May the Lord reveal His mind to us in Jesus Name. John 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein. Judas Iscariot kept the bag of the money as no banks existed in those days. As treasurer his voice was all about money and things dealing with finance. God expects all those who are dealing with church finance to have the poor at heart. Does that speak of you my dear pastor? Look at the cars that are packed at your house and as a shepherd you have some of your members who sleep without food and are not able to come to church because they do not have money. How do you think God looks at this? The same poorest of the poor when they are blessed with a small token will rest from your hot messages on giving. When they manage to come to church announcements are on pledges, building, church transport, pastor’s trip, new furnisher and so on and so forth and the poor member in obedience to the Lord ends up giving the little he or she has. Pastor you are guilt in the sight of the Lord because you live in pleasure at the expense of the giving s of the poor of the poorest without considering their condition. You use a committee to deny people love. Repent before it is too late. This Judas Iscariot syndrome is controlling many church ministers and ministries today and no wonder the 21st Century church is dying and not seeing much of the Bible miracles. God wants to heal the church and may it be so in Jesus Name. THE GOOD SIDE OF JUDAS ISCARIOT! 1. He was among the chosen twelve to walk and work with Christ during the Lord’s earthly ministry. Matthew 10:1-4 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. 2 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. Matthew 26:14 Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests Luke 22:3 Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. John 6:71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve. John 12:4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simons son, which should betray him, Judas Iscariot was not a stranger to grace and the salvation of the Lord. Do you realize that the major destroyers of churches are not people from outside but those inside? Satan will not convert an outsider into a Judas but those who are inside. To add to all that I am saying, its those of us who preaching that become the best candidates to become the Judas of our time. May the Lord help us to avoid this dangerous canker worm in Jesus Name.
