JULY 12, 2013 OUR CONSTITUTION IS RIPE FOR AMENDMENT CHA-CHA? Never through a Constituent Assembly of existing Senators and Congressmen, and only on ECONOMIC PROVISIONS. The present constitution was hastily promulgated by the CORY-DESIGNATED COMMISSIONERS after People Power revolution in 1986. Today, we realize that there are so many provisions, both economic and political, that need to be amended. This cannot be reliably delegated to the Constituent Assembly with members of various interests. We must do it through a nationally elected CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION delegates who are politically disattached. It may be expensive but they are more reliable to craft this important document that will chart and determine our and our future generations destiny for the next decades, and may be, for the next century.
