JUST BECAUSE HE LOVED ME Deuteronomy 7:7-8 ‘The Lord did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the Lord loves you, and because He would keep oath which He swore to your fathers, the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.’ My precious friends in Christ, the Lord’s love for us is not a conditional love. It is not based on our background, status, looks, wealth, qualifications, race, nationality, caste or any of the worldly factors. His love is given out freely just because we are His creation. John 15:16 says ‘You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit.’ Romans 5:8 ‘But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.’ Psalm 6:5-10 ‘Your mercy O Lord is in the Heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgements are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with you is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.’ Yes precious friends all these verses show that the Lord’s love has no limit, boundaries or restrictions. It freely abounds and overflows. Hence beloved if anyone here on earth tells you that you are not loved or lovable that is okay because your Father in Heaven loves you with an everlasting love that is unconditional and loves you for who you are – His son, His daughter. Jeremiah 31:33 ‘Yes I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’
