JUST SENT THIS MESSAGE TO BBC RADIO KENT !! Hi i run a business in Gravesend and i have felt the need to make a facebook page called Make Gravesend Town Safe Our lights have been turned off and i am trying to encourage members of the public to sign a petition to have them turned back on we need 10k this is achievable but i need to get the word out there that we can make a difference instead of sitting indoors moaning take 5 mins to sign ! my own son was attacked by eastern Europeans who have been robbing and assaulting vulnerable drunk people on their way home after a night out....... the street lights not on does not help the situation ,businesses are suffering because our customers will not come out after dark because of fear of intimidation from small group of these persons.I am not saying that all eastern Europeans are bad news but i am saying enough is enough ....this town can not take any more in to house and pay for we need proper policing of our streets they need moving on when they are loitering and we need to have our lights on our street to be able to see the danger !! If you can help in any way to help publicise the petition i would be very grateful !
