Jack-Sprat, 13.3hh, 7 year old NF Gelding. – For Sale £800 (or swap for happy hacker) Heart breaking sale of my gorgeous boy – I found out this week I have a serious back injury (not related to Jack!) so I am now limited to very basic happy hacking, with this in mind I can’t give Jack the life he needs, I’m not able to ride for longer than half an hour at a time and definitely no jumping so Jack is now going to waste Jack is THE cheekiest pony on earth, he will follow you round the field while poo picking and if you aren’t looking will try and flip the wheelbarrow, will trot off with the fork, nibble your hair etc. He likes to try and cuddle you and whatever you have in your hands (be it a drink, food, paper, pen....) he wants it. Riding wise he’s a little star hacking in company, he doesn’t like to lead but is very sensible and good with traffic – he’ll occasionally side step an aggressive looking man hole cover but never spins or does anything stupid, he’ll just snort and walk round it. On a lead rein he’s a real dope but he will need some more work in order to hack alone but I have no doubt he’ll be grand. He leads out like a champ on his own, it’s just his confidence goes when he’s ridden (with no one walking next to him). He’ll walk/trot/canter in open fields no problem and pop the odd little log etc. Never rushes and will never overtake the lead horse. Schooling wise he isn’t that experienced, he lacks confidence so he need someone who can reassure him, it would be easy to think he’s being naughty, he isn’t – he just doesn’t know everything yet! His ground work is coming on really nicely and he’s very relaxed in all gaits, over poles and small fences etc. His ground/stable manners are impeccable (if you ignore the fact he will occasional try and kiss you) and he’s very low maintenance.
