Jack and I lost our girl BLANCHE to old age on 21 OCTOBER 2014 at home while on her bed at 2:15 PM. We thank God that He took her and alleviated us of the responsibility of making any life choices for her. Blanche came to us from B.A.R.C. (Brooklyn Animal Rescue Coalition), 21 September 2012, age 10.5 - 11 years - a beautiful yellow Labrador who had met over 35 people who turned on their heels when they learned her age. We knew we would have a short time with her - 2 years, 1 month. I used to say in the beginning to protect my heart that we were taking care of her for God, but as it always goes, that layer of protection is pulled down as you fall in love with these Borrowed Angels that come into our lives and touch our hearts. I could not have made it through that day without the loving help and support of Joe Paparella, who was there to help me, text Jack asking him to come home early, contact the animal people for her body, to get me to bed with a cup of tea and, most importantly, to help me stop crying. It hurt me so much to lose her that I could not make this news available to my friends because the pain of writing (forget speaking!) was too great. May God our BLANCHE as she now rests in Heaven with her two brothers: Schuyler and Oakley and her VoVo (my mother, Carol Archer, 1931 - 2010) who would have adored her and her Grandpa (my father, Carl Moats 1940 - 2012) whod have played Blanches favorite game Mad Dog and her Auntie Nancee (my stepsister, Nancee Pikul 1973-2011) whod have just said Aw.. Blanche came eight days after Oakley died and Oaks came eight days after Schuyler died. This time, it took much longer, but on the 29th of November, we welcomed CASEY into our family and our hearts. I will tell you about her in a later posting. Much love to all my FB friends who give me so much! I just wish I could give as much in return. Happy Holidays, ALL!
