Jackson Township Police Department News Release Two Township Residents Arrested During Narcotics Investigation On Thursday June 20, 2013, Detectives from the Jackson Township Police Department concluded a narcotics investigation with the arrest of two suspects. At approximately 4:00 pm, Detectives conducted a motor vehicle stop with a 2002 Chevy Pickup with two male occupants on West Commodore Boulevard. During the motor vehicle stop the officers had the occupants exit the vehicle and while doing so, one was observed dropping several small wax folded envelopes of suspected heroin on the ground. Further investigation revealed that the subject had additional heroin on his person as well as a hypodermic syringe. Both subjects were placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Arrested: Elijah Hinze, age 22, of Beachwood NJ. Mr. Hinze was charged with: Possession of Heroin, Possession of Heroin with the Intent to Distribute and Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe. He also had outstanding warrants for his arrest out of Jackson and Manchester. Bail was set at $25,000.00 with a ten percent option and he was later lodged in the Ocean County Jail. Michael Ritz, age 19, of Jackson NJ. Mr. Ritz was charged with: Possession of Heroin and Possession of a controlled dangerous substance while operating a motor vehicle. He was later released on summons pending a court appearance. - All suspects and persons who are named in this release are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
