Jacobinism, socialism, communism, nihilism, and anarchism -- these - TopicsExpress

Jacobinism, socialism, communism, nihilism, and anarchism -- these are the foes of a real democratic republic, for each one, if it obtains control, obtains it only as the forerunner of a despotic tyranny and of some form of one-man power. - Theodore Roosevelt. Interestingly, he wrote this in 1888, in his biography of Gouverneur Morris (one of our Founding Fathers), which I am currently reading. This was written long before the rise and threat of communism or socialism. Although he wrote it as a criticism of the extreme violence and slaughter that the French Revolution brought about, its almost like he was foretelling the rise of Barak Obama, and the horrible turn this could face if we dont stop him from shredding the Constitution.
