Jadavpurs excellent NAAC rating (just announced) was achieved against the odds through the incredible dedication and energy shown by members of the JU NAAC team, notably Samantak Das and Somak Mukherjee, but also through the commitment, leadership and vision of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Siddhartha Datta. The VC himself was largely absent during the preparations and the exercise itself. I am sad today that the Pro-VC should have been the one to step down. Congratulations, Professor Datta, and my sincere respect.
