Jade Warrior is one of those cursed the first 70 groups with a long discography and a style, but inexplicably little known. However they are of British legends of the first progressive or pseudo-progressive. His style is a combination of rock blues & folk roots, pastoral music, ambient, jazz and world music (especially the oriental music), though many of its themes and atmospheric acoustic or simply without battery, using other types of percussion as bongos . Although its evolution is constant in each album, farther and farther on the grounds of more conventional rock songs, but without losing its personality. In his first album music can remember Jethro Tull, but really the sound of Jade Warrior is different, especially for the absence of drums throughout the album, replaced by bongos. The drums can remember Santana, but really this is different. The topics are short and not too complex, and quite different from each other. In the most serious Masai Morning characteristic with the combination of flute, bongos, oriental music and the singer and guitar bluesy-rock, so typical of the group. The beautiful Windweaver reminiscent of those dark pseudo-ballads (Planet Caravan and Solitude) of the first Black Sabbath albums, mixed with the more pastoral Genesis. Also of the most prominent is the delicious Sundial Song Issues like A Day at Brighton prenormal or Psychiatric Sergeant, and Petunia and Telephone Girl themes are basically excellent blues-rock with minimal percussion. Others are like The Traveller, Dragonfly Day Slowride or more Eastern-ethnic environment. A great album to start with this group, but overall very relaxing moments of claw. In short, a very well done album, restrained in its proper place, and a great deal of inspiration and creativity, a group that maybe were not exactly progressive, but it is clear that is unlike anything existing in the early 70 .
