Jake Briggs was working as a qualified carpenter when he dislocated his neck diving into his pool and became C5/C6 incomplete quadriplegic. Jake’s employer retrained him and he now works as an assistant contracts manager, dealing with financial and commercial risk management. He credits the support of his workplace with giving him the opportunity to become a voice for the disadvantaged. As part of the board of the Aboriginal Disability Network, Jake aims to seek employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians with Disabilities. This year, IDPwD is encouraging employers to embrace employability and harness the benefits of a diverse workforce. #ozemployability ow.ly/A5xoV
