Jamaica we have a serious problem and its the slow death of our beloved dancehall. Lets not even focus on the music side right now -- today my issue is with Jacap - Jams and these other vultures in the business. Now listen to me on this 1) You pay for a venue -- 2) You book your sounds 3) You apply for a permit and a extension (permit is till 12/2 depending on the night ) Ext grant you until 4. You do all this to try and make some money -- They tell you no on your extension so you can barely make money -- next they tell you to pay JACAP? wtf is JACAP? Oh yeah for playing copyrighted material at the event -- Oh ok so you know exactly which songs we ago play? No they say its an estimate -- god forbid your party is getting hyped in the streets dem come look pon you and tell you its over 100,000.00 -- Are you rass mad?? This is beyond highway robbery -- then they tell you your party needs to shut down at 1? So if you did make any profit it goes in their hands. Do they realize how many people stay employed in jamaica because of these parties they fight against? I guess we should play hip hop all night so they cant charge me for that. Promoters & party goers need to unite and stand up against this. I will be in Jamaica soon and I will make it my mission to fight this. I havent heard one artist who received a check -- what are you protecting?
