James 1:19-23 ESV Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror... If someone says I love God but I dont show that love with my actions, what that person is really saying is that they only love Gods character. God has no need of us but the amazing thing is that even though we are so minor an object God loves us so much that He was still willing to give His son for us to be his children. God was willing to give up anything to save us and keep us as his own, so why cant we show gratitude by following in this character. Be gracious with friends and help one another... Offer help to people who we pass on the street. Give up all of our selfish pride and in place give grace to a world that in no way deserves it but in every way needs it and thirsts for it. We are called the body and God gives the body one crucial commandment. Show the love I have given you to the world, and do it with faithfulness and steadfastness.
