James "Jim" Ivan Anderson December 26, 1938 August 22, 2013 Granite Falls, NC – Mr. James “Jim” Ivan Anderson, age 74, of Granite Falls, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born December 26, 1938 in Johnson County, Tennessee, he was a son of the late Charlie and Alta Moody Anderson and the husband of Mrs. Lynda Anderson of the residence. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Mr. Anderson loved his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and had worked in textiles all his life. He had worked for Hayes Cotton Mill, American Efird and most recently with Shuford Mills now Shuford Yarn for 33 years. His past time was spent working in his garden and his yard as well as working on his trucks. Other than his wife Lynda, he is survived by his daughter, Kathie Nava of Granite Falls; Step-Daughter, Theresa Wexler and husband Harold of Kingsport, TN; Sister, Edith Potter of Mt. City, TN; brother, Arvus Anderson of Mt. City, TN; 6 Grandchildren, Matthew Scott, Casey Scott, Jessie Osborne, Joey Moody, Victoria Moody, Aaron Moody and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Myles Moody, Makayla Moody, McKinley Scott and Alexis Moody. A celebration of Mr. Anderson’s life will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Reverend Clyde Bumgarner officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:30 pm prior to the service at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be: Matthew Scott, Casey Scott, Joey Moody, Aaron Moody, James Maddy and Harold Wexler.
