However as most referendums are defeated even when the majority support the referendum the first referendum should be to change the 75% rule that is required to pass a referendum. When a democracy should be majority rules, which is 50.1%; Otherwise most issues will never get passed on a referendum even with the majority support. As an example, even though most Australians supported the change to Australia becoming a Republic it was easily defeated as opposing view had to simply get 25.1% to oppose in order to win. Hardly seems like a fair system when a majority is 50.1%.
