Jammu-West needs focused development: Jamwal JAMMU DECEMBER 07- Reiterating commitment of National Conference to change the developmental profile of the winter capital, the party candidate from Jammu-West Mr Dharamveer Singh Jamwal on Sunday questioned the moral standing of BJP in seeking votes as its elected representatives virtually abandoned their constituencies during the past six years. “The ongoing elections are for deciding about the development of assembly constituencies and the voters will have to judge the performance of those whom they elected in the last elections”, Mr Jamwal said while conducting door to door campaign at Talab Tillo this morning. Later, addressing election meetings at Qasim Nagar and Bakshi Nagar, Mr Jamwal flagged all round development of the constituency as his top priority and said Jammu West will go for complete makeover in the next six years. He referred to the issues of urgent nature with regard to sanitation, health and hygiene, roads, lanes and drains besides the sewerage and said these would get priority attention. He said National Conference has proved over the years that politics will not be allowed to supersede development. “Therefore, I would need whole-hearted support of the people in carrying forward the mission of development and implementation of various welfare schemes across the constituency”, he said. Mr Jamwal referred to the opportunistic and divisive politics of Congress and BJP, saying they had no agenda with regard to assuaging the urges and aspirations of the people and hence these parties were resorting to rhetoric and divisive tactics. The National Conference candidate sought vote and support of the people and assured that he will try to meet their expectations in his own humble way. Prominent among those who accompanied and were present in the meetings addressed by Mr Jamwal, included Sucha Singh, Shabir Sambyal, Pinky Bhat, Vijay Bachiyal and others.
