Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation plants 100 trees and presents a Grow-Trees certificate to Mr. Kailash Satyarthi - Nobel Peace Laureate, 2014. Kailash Satyarthi is an Indian children’s rights activist who has been at the forefront of the global movement to end child slavery and exploitative child labor since 1980 when he gave up a lucrative career as an Electrical Engineer for initiating crusade against Child Servitude. He founded the Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement) in 1980 and has acted to protect the rights of children from 144 countries. As a grassroots activist, he has led the rescue of over 78,500 child slaves and developed a successful model for their education and rehabilitation. It is largely because of Satyarthis work and activism that the International Labour Organization adopted Convention No. 182 on the worst forms of child labour, which is now a principal guideline for governments around the world.
