Jan 8, 2015, 10.10am I attended the Mesyuarat Penyelarasan Pasca Banjir chaired by YAB Tan Sri TPM in Pejabat Daerah Jerantut, Pahang. Actions to be taken by the federal government: 1. Incentives for flood victims: (a) RM500 per house to be awarded by 15-16th January 2015 (b) RM5,000 for death cases (c) RM100 per student 2. Registry of damaged properties (homes): Temporary settlements for flood victims (PLKN, PPR, Rumah Awam (by rental), homestays, temporary housing on state land (i.e. cabins etc.) 4. Food items: Supplied by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat & MOA 5. Non-food items: Suggestion for RM330 per capita by state government. Will be discussed further at the federal level 6. Cleaning process of public assets/building to be done by volunteers 7. List of infrastructures (roads/bridges) damaged: To record the degree of damage & estimated costs 8. Back to normal life: Some incentives to be given to those in agriculture, SMEs & small entrepreneurs 9. Research to be done by universities to determine cause & effect of floods in Pahang 10. Improve river & drainage flow 11. Plan for permanent homes for the total lost houses in Pahang 12. Suggestion: To create one department to deal with disaster. Based on current situations, it was suggested to have a Disaster Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
