Jan and I went to see the movie Son of God last night with high - TopicsExpress

Jan and I went to see the movie Son of God last night with high expectations, but left with disappointment. Though it was theologically good in portraying Jesus as the Son of God, the script was apparently written by someone with little Bible knowledge or total disregard for Biblical accuracy. The movie shows Nicodemas going to see Jesus in the day and at the same time Judas is at the Temple with Caiaphas plotting the betrayal, events that are years apart. When Jesus raises Lazarus instead of Jesus calling Lazarus, come forth from outside the tomb, Jesus goes into the tomb and kisses Lazarus on the head reviving him. One technical note, Lazarus is still in street clothes instead of being wrapped for burial. Quotes of Jesus are thrown in here and there not within the events where Jesus actually said them according to the Bible. I could go on and on about the technical errors which an actual reading of the Bible could have averted. Lastly, at the moment of Jesus death the picture flashes into the Temple where the curtain separating the Holy of Holies looks like a pair of bed sheets hung on a cheap curtain rod. The curtain is not shown as one seamless item, but has a division in the middle, and instead of being torn in two from top to bottom, it merely falls down. Maybe I am to picky about the details, but I doubt I will be buying a copy of it when it comes out on DVD.
