January 2015 Epic Vacation Adventure, Day 1: I have the wonderful gift of traveling across the country and back with my sister Shannon for the rest of this month. Today, we drove through several snow storms traveling to Mantoon, IL, our overnight stop on the way to Branson, MO. We passed about a dozen accidents along the way due to the slippery roads, but the stand-outs were watching a SUV spin in 2 circles and land safely on the side of the road without hitting another vehicle or the guardrails (awesomely amazing), and the other, a semi-truck laying on its side in a shallow ditch. As we slowed down to pass the semi we couldnt figure out why there were so many people spread out over a 1/4 mile walking around, obviously looking for something. Then we saw it, a herd of big pink hogs just inside the woods on the other side of the ditch :) You just dont see that everyday! Headed to Branson, MO tomorrow for two days, then traveling through Bethany, OK, Santa Fe, NM, Prescott, AZ on our Phoenix for a week at a resort, then to my brother Brians in Tucson, AZ. On our way home well see San Antonio, TX, New Orleans, LA, Pensacola, FL, Savannah, GA, Charlotte, NC, Williamsburg, VA, one more night in Ohio and then home on the 31st. Gonna be a fun trip!
