January has not started out too well for us. Tobi is going in for expensive surgery for his deformed left elbow. His paw is at 45 degrees sideways. He will have an osteotomy on the 21st and a plate inserted. Chickiss had her spay appointment today and will go through heartworm treatment in two weeks. Lady was already at the vet once this weekend and will go back for a sonography next weekend. If its not puppies she is carrying at her high age, its certainly something and that cant be good. Then we have to deal with her heartworms or other issues if possible. Little Cherie from a litter of 6 had a bowed paw on arrival and of to the emergency vet last weekend. X-rays did not reveal anything though and its starting to look more normal. To top it off, one of the litter came down with Parvo and is now at Greater Annapolis Veterinary Hospital. No signs of illness with the other 5. praying all other stay healthy. The puppy is not eating yet but has not turned for the worse. Not a good start of the year. If the piggy bank breaks this months.... I will have to go begging :-). prayers needed for the health and successful surgeries of our pups.
