Japan has said it will not give in to terrorism after a video emerged in which Islamic State (IS) militants threatened to kill two Japanese hostages unless a US$200 million (S$267 million) ransom was paid. The militants said the ransom was to compensate for US$200 million in non-military aid that Japan had pledged in support of countries hit by IS violence. str.sg/455 A defiant Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is on a tour of the Middle East, said on Tuesday that Tokyo would honour the aid pledge. str.sg/45T
