Jason Lee 2 hrs · Mindef said: The case is a commercial dispute between MobileStats Technologies and the vendor Syntech Engineers, who supplied the mobile Battalion Casualty Station to Mindef. The vendor did not agree that the plaintiffs patent was valid and was prepared to challenge its validity in court. Mindef notes that the Court has declared that the patent is not valid, and there is no Intellectual Property infringement. Mindef would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to Intellectual Property Law. Most importantly, Mindef is just a buyer, not the manufacturer. If MobileStats believes it has a valid case, it should pursue the matter with the manufacturer, not the user. Mindef has regarded the recent allegations very seriously and is referring the matter to the Attorney-Generals Chambers for advice in the Jan 20 Facebook post. ------------------------------------- If MINDEF says it is a commercial dispute between MobileStats Technologies and the vendor Syntech Engineers and MINDEF is just a buyer, why then does MINDEF need to refer the matter to the Attorney-General Chambers? Why is the vendor Syntech Engineers hiding behind MINDEF and why didnt MINDEF advise MobileStats Technologies accordingly in the first place so that public monies need not be dispensed unnecessarily?
