Jay Hinson : I have to say a word about my friend Jay..He loved a good joke. One time when I was going through one of those life problems..That seemed like the end of the world..That didnt turn out so bad..Jay said..Lets take a walk Billy..He had known me since the day I was born. Jay said..you feeling OK? You healthy? Yea Jay , Im OK..Well then you are ahead of the game son. We walked and talked a little more..Party going on at the tower..I said Jay, guess we had better head back..seems like a lot of people want to talk to us..He said yea, I guess..Thats why I brought these !!..and pulled out two 16 oz. Buds from his pocket..Handed me one..Lets keep walking and talking son..we did . He asked me if I had a connection to the Ella Fitzgerald concert in Bangor..No Jay wish I did..He wrote a letter to Ella..I read it a dozen times..It was beautiful. Needless to say he got to meet her. His birthday party was usually held on the Quoddy Dam..Cpt Harris boat..I was fortunate enough to be there many times..Jay, Rocky,Lindy,Jerry,Keith..The last one I remember Doug Beaver was singing to Cpt.Harris and a bunch of people at the stern of the boat..Cindy came up to me and said..Who;s driving the boat?..I went up to the dog house and Jay was standing outside staring straight ahead,,Jerry Taber at the helm,,I said where in the hell we going boys? Jay said..Over that horizon son..I laughed and said..whats over there? Jay looked at me and said every thing Billy..everything.. Jay has gone over that horizon now..But Ill catch up with him later. You can count on that.
