Jayapataka Swami visits our Congregational Development Ministry Office By Iksvaku Das - CDM Outreach Coordinator Without warning we received the news that Jayapataka Swami was coming to do his regular inspection-blessings of the different departments offices operating from the long building in Mayapur. At the Congregational Development Ministry ISKCON offices, we all hastily tried to make everything look neat, and cleared space so his wheel chair could get in. Once he entered, he started to ask one by one of the staff their specific service. One of us, Manjulali Manjari Sevini d.d. who is the most punctual and hardly ever takes a day off if sick or even holidays, had exceptionally taken the day off for a family matter. He asked, why she is not here? why she hasnt come?. I told Jayapataka Swami the reason, and he kept on asking where everyone sat and their service. Seva prabhu said, Iksvaku prabhu sits here, and I sit there. Jayapataka Swami pointedly said, Iksvaku just... sits there, he does nothing... he simply sits there... (He started mimicking as someone sitting still with half-closed eyes)... Everyone burst into laughter. Although brief, Jayapataka Swami knows how to keep on top of everything. Not only that, but he naturally gives a personal and humorous touch to his exchanges asking sometimes personal or even technical details about someone or something. From the Security, the Travel agency, Electricity, the CDM, his personal offices and everyone else on his path, we were all graciously reminded that - just as Srila Prabhupada assigned him the service of supervising Mayapurs development- he is continuing to do this service to his Spiritual Master. It was a refreshing moment and relished by all, one of those that light up everyones spirit. We all are happy to see that our Boss is here to make sure that we dont simply sit there and do nothing.... All Glories to Srila Prabhupada and Jayapataka Swami!!!
