Jeez I think Im becoming a grumpy bastard in my old age....... Went in to Kmart the other day, looked at their selection of crap clothing made by poor sweat shop workers in Bangladesh, reluctantly picked out a few items. Remembered we needed a strainer/ colander because the last one broke. Picked up a metal strainer and put a small amount of force on it to see if it can actually hold some food substance.... broke apart in my hand! Swapped for some other piece of junk and went to the checkouts. 6 automated checkouts with 2 staff overseeing them and ONE checkout with..... wait for it....the slowest man in the world manning it. After waiting for 2.5 light years, I said to the young overseer that I was going to buy this stuff but now could not be bothered...yada yada. She looked at me like I was stupid! (well that is debatable!) and I left it all there. Is it just me, or have we all just become so complacent to these big companies herding us like sheep into their ever spiraling plans for greater profits, automation and world domination...at the expense of our childrens/; grandchildrens jobs and future? All so we can save a few bucks on some crap that will be landfill by the same time next year. Like this if you are a grumpy old fart like me and not a sheep! .......is that a cricket I hear chirping? ;)
