Jefferson College Foundation Receives $100,000 Grant For Health Occupations Scholarships and Training Equipment In an effort to provide educational opportunities for area residents in Jefferson College’s six Health Occupations programs, the Jefferson College Foundation recently received two grants on behalf of the college totaling $100,000 to underwrite a series of first-year allied health scholarships and the purchase of state-of-the-art instructional equipment. “The college is ecstatic to be able to provide enhanced instructional technology and scholarship assistance in connection with its emphasis in the health occupations field,” said Jefferson College President Dr. Raymond Cummiskey. “I am thankful for the Jefferson Memorial Community Foundation’s support through the Jefferson College Foundation as a means to enhance healthcare-related job training and improve the quality of life in our county.” As a regional leader in providing high quality associate degree programs, the college has expanded its offerings by creating several new healthcare-centered training programs to meet the demand for skilled professionals. As a result, $20,000 will be used to provide scholarships to 18 first-year students in the Nursing, Physical Therapist Assistant, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Biomedical Electronics Technician, and Health Information Technology programs.
