Jehovah-Shalom (The Lord is peace): And Gideon built an altar to The Lord there and named it Jehovah-Shalom (which means the Lord is peace) (Judges 6:24). The Lords name is Jehovah-Shalom, (the prince of peace) or (The Lord is peace). He is the one, who is able to turn all your sorrowful and burdened situation to a peaceful one. You may be struggling in your life with the people around you, who may not understand you. Or you may be struggling in your spiritual life. Here is a good news. Our God is the God of peace. The one who gives peace. In the judges 6th chapter, the situation was not good. There was no peace among the Israelites, for Midianites will come and attack the Israel and destroy their crops. In this situation Gideon was threshing wheat at the bottom of a winepress to hide the grain from Midianites. There came the angel of God. He called Gideon as Mighty Hero. But Gideon was afraid of the enemies and he was about to save his wheat from the enemy. Gideon was seeing the present situation and was afraid. But God looked up the future, and calls him a mighty hero. When he gets the word from God, he didnt wait for it to come into existence. When there was no peace still, but he built an altar and named it Jehovah-Shaloam. He know who The Lord is. The one who will not change His words. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good? (Num. 23:19). You may be oppressed in your working place without reason. We do have lot of promises in the Bible. Confess it and claim it. Do not look at the situation you are in now. If you want peace in your life and spiritual life, Praise Him for He is Jehovah-Shalom. Confess and claim that He is your Jehovah-Shalom, the one who gives peace. He is Jehovah-Shalom, and it will not get change. Dont think that He is Jehovah-Shalom, only when He gives peace in your life. He is Jehovah-Shalom, and so He will surely give you peace. Have a peaceful day.
