Our family is full of fourth generation medics and the umpteenth generation of firefighters, and it looks as if the next generation is pretty much sure to follow in that tradition, too. Just this weekend, my four-year-old daughter was playing rescue with her Grandaddy. And, as they pulled firetrucks and ambulances up to the dollhouse, she called out her Safety Plan of Get low. Be quiet. Crawl outside, and meet your Mommy at the mailbox! Then, just when I thought I couldnt be prouder, her grandfather asked her to pass him the Hurst tool - to which she replied, Be more specific. Hurst makes LOTS of tools. Do you want Jaws, a spreader, a cutter or a rabbit? Looks like weve got a future truckie on our hands. I think my in-laws were hoping for another police officer, but I think its safe to say shes been firmly claimed by Mommys side of the family!
