Jennuflection 10/7/2014 Have you asked How do I make Jesus Christ the center of my life? I believe He came and was the One Who died and bore the penalty for my sin question. When I was young in my faith relationship I believed, yes with my head knowledge - I believed He did, however I think that I beleived more what other said and conveyed their experience to be rather than fully receiving or experiencing a intimate personal relationship for myself with Him. I can tell you in great detail how wonderful it is to spend time at the ocean, watch the whales breeching and spouting, feel the sun and sea spray on my face and you believe the words and imagine the experience that I am describing, but that is not the experience first hand. I think this often happens with our relationship with Jesus. I know for many years I believed about God because of what others said and taught, but there came a time, when like Job, I knew that just hearing what someone else said was not what I needed - BUT EXPERIENCING HIM in my life personally was when I truly received him into my LIFE. Jesus Christ wants every one who believes on/in Him to have that PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE and a INTIMATE relationship with Him. Who is the One Who will lead and guide us into that Truth? Jesus told us in John 16:13-15, I still have many things to say to you, (His disciples at that moment could not handle what was happening) However when the Spirit of Truth comes He will take you by the hand and guide you into all the Truth there is. (the Message) John wrote his Gospel and Epistle of his experience on Patmos about 40 years after Jesus Resurrection; he understood what Jesus was telling them in John 14-16 about the Holy Spirit. He had experienced Him personally and intimately in his core. His promise is If I have ever asked Him to be my Savior (that personal experience) I have been transferred into His Kingdom. I am under His Headship. Yes, He lets us run off in our meaningless tangents, but then crisis happens and we are pulled back to CENTER. So much easier to begin each and everyday, saying Lord, I belong to You, what is Your plan for me today?
