Jenny lodged the following motion in Parliament today: Motion Number: S4M-11163 Date Lodged: 09/10/2014 Title: Keep Dundee’s 36 Bus Motion Text: That the Parliament condemns the withdrawal of the 36 bus service in Dundee by National Express; understands that National Express and Dundee City Council Transport have failed to give assurance of future service provision for communities in Linlathen, Mid Craigie, Claverhouse and Mill O’Mains; supports and congratulates the residents on their campaign to keep and improve the 36 service; believes that the removal of this service will have a detrimental impact on older people, young families, disabled people and children in these communities, limiting their ability to get to work, socialise and attend medical appointments; condemns the failure of the Scottish Government to regulate Scottish buses, and supports Iain Gray MSP’s members’ bill, which would regulate bus services in Scotland.
