Jeremiah 18:1-6 is a great message that God had shown Jeremiah. God tells Jeremiah to go visit the potters house. There he witnesses the craftsmanship of the potter with clay that has imperfections and what the potter can do once the clay is pliable. Three things stand out immediately: 1. The Potter has the power over the clay. God has a plan to make us His masterpiece in being reconciled back into a holiness relationship with Him, transforming us the imperfect into the image of our Savior Jesus. The master Craftsmen has set out to achieve a particular design in us, and He has a plan to make it take shape. 2. Its the Potter who works the clay. Not the other way around. God knows that spiritual maturity cant be rushed. He shapes our lives with great perseverance, on experience at a time. 3. Our God is a personal Potter. HIs creations reflect His personality and character and His Spirit is poured into each human vessel so He can bean intimate part of our life. The result is a work of true beauty, a saint wholly committed to Him. Question: Are you the potter of your life or our you the clay. The answer is as simple as recognizing if we are truly surrendered in knowledge and in life to Him working His perfect will. Understanding the beauty of our relationship with our holy God as being a miracle. God told Jeremiah in chapter 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Question is, are you totally surrendered, heart, mind and soul to the need for His authority in our lives. Anything else will leave us dealing the consequences of our own choices and decisions.
