Jerry Bash 2014 at Pioneer Park Pioneer Park was the scene of a gathering straight out of the Haight Ashbury golden age of the late 60s. Jerry Bash 2014 was held Saturday, August 2, on the lawn and band shell at Pioneer Park with hundreds of tie-dyed and pony tailed locals in attendance. Children of all ages were getting in touch with their inner Jerry. The gathering featured deadhead music, food, drinks, art, and vendors and ran from 4:00 p.m. to10:00 p.m. Produced by The Miners Foundry, Jerry Bash 2014 featured headliners the DeadBeats in a 20th anniversary reunion concert. The show also featured music by Achilles Wheel, T-Buck & the Bad Dreams, Cheatin’ Buzzies, and Scary Little Friends. Admission was a $20.00 suggested donation but we couldn’t find anyone taking tickets. The gathering gave new meaning to the term “open carry.” Peace and love filled the air along with a cloud of herbaceous smoke. One person said, “Feels like San Francisco” to which I replied, “It’s much warmer here.” —Tom Dalldorf
