Jerry Bruckheimer is hoping to have a screenplay for Bad Boys III finished by the end of the summer. The Pirates of the Caribbean director has confirmed there will be a third instalment of the popular action-comedy series starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, but confessed the storyline hasnt been completed yet. Quizzed on whether Bad Boys III was still happening, he said: Well, were working on an outline right now. Hopefully well get a screenplay in the next three months. And that will become a movie I hope. Bruckheimer - who is currently promoting the release of Deliver Us From Evil - claims theres no overlap when making two films based on similar issues as so much research goes into every project. He explained to Collider: We always focus on the place where the actions going to take place, which is Miami [in Bad Boys]. We research it and figure out whats actually going on down in Miami with criminals and what theyre doing. We bring in experts. And thats how the screenplays evolve. Meanwhile, the 70-year-old filmmaker has revealed the upcoming fifth film in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Dead Men Tell No Tales, wont feature any Kraken-like creatures or monsters. He said: I think were back to more of a straight pirates movie this time.
