Jesus Christ spoke Aramaic and when he preached about God he used - TopicsExpress

Jesus Christ spoke Aramaic and when he preached about God he used the Aramaic word for God, Ellah, also referred to as Allah. The word Allah existed for at least 1000 years before Islam. Today Allah is the Arabic word for God so Christians and Jews who speak Arabic use the word Allah in their speech as do Muslims. Allah is also the main word used for God by Muslims of all languages. A Catholic priest addressing an Egyptian crowd would refer to God as Allah if his sermon was delivered in Arabic, just as he would say Dios if speaking Spanish. Likewise a Muslim Imam would use the word Dios if speaking Spanish. Mizrahi Jews call God Allah and Christians of Malta also use this term, even if not speaking Arabic. Muslims speaking English will often use the term God as in God bless you or thank God. Many Muslims do not speak Arabic and many Arabs are not Muslim but Christians or Jews. When Muslims face Mecca and pray to the Kaaba, they are praying to the figurative house of Abraham, yes the very same Abraham from the Bible, without question. We share more than just language. Islam, Christianity and Judaism are three branches from the same religious tree.
