Jesus Heals the Blind We continue our journey into every word spoken by Jesus in the Gospels to help us all KNOW JESUS MORE NOW. On his way to Jerusalem for the last time, Jesus and his disciples came to Jericho. A large crowd followed them as they left the city. Two blind men were sitting by the road begging. When they heard that Jesus was passing by, they yelled, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet. But they yelled even louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him. “Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes. Immediately they received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. When all the people saw it, they praised God. (Matthew 20:29-34 ; Mark 10:46-52; Luke 18:35-43) Let’s look at our 2 BIG Questions: 1. Who exactly is Jesus? The blind men nail it: He’s the Lord and the Son of David – the Messiah for whom God’s people have been waiting. He confirms those descriptions by healing them of their blindness. 2. What exactly should we do? Have faith, follow Jesus and praise God!
