A Backslider is a person who accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and walked in the ways of the Lord but at some point turned back to their own ways and the ways of the world. Backsliding carries its own consequences. Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter that thous hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts. Jeremiah 2:19 If you find yourself in a place where you have wasted your time, money and substance on things of this world; If you find that you left the love of your Heavenly Father in search for love in all the wrong places; If you find that you left the loving arms of your saviour and left the eternal security found only in Jesus; If you find yourself walking around in the wilderness; If every path that you have taken has left you empty and alone, Gods love for you has not changed. God is calling you to come back to Jesus. God loves you as He did when you first accepted Jesus in your heart. God has not forgotten you and in fact, as a loving Father, He grieves to see you turning back to the weak and beggarly elements of this world that will not satisfy you but only destroy you unless you return back to Him. You see, God never turned away from you, but it is you who turned away from God. And just as you turned away from God, you can turn back to Him today! No matter what you have done. God is merciful and will forgive you of all of your sin and cast them into the sea of forgetfulness. God will make all things new. God is calling you to come back to Jesus. Cry out to Jesus, ask Him to forgive you of your backsliding and the Father will forgive you and restore you. James 4:4 Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. There is still hope as long as there is breath in your body. Do not delay! Repent, seek forgiveness and God will give you a brand new start! Remember Jesus still loves you!
