Jesus frequently rebuked doubt in his disciples, exhorting them to take him at his word. What would happen if we (his present-day followers) decided to shove doubt out of our lives every time it started rearing its ugly head? We wouldn’t be concerned about the cruel, harsh, or condemning words of others. We’d believe God loves us eternally and never leaves us even when we can’t feel his presence or hear his voice. We’d boldly accept the opportunities he gives us to walk through doors that have previously been shut but now are open to us. In short, we’d grow in faith while starving fears that are a fruit of doubt. That could bring about many radical changes for better in all of our lives. “See to it brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.” (Hebrews 3:12)
