Jesus has some great one-liners. Read his challenging and provocative words this morning, Luke 11:23: "He who is not with me is against me, and he who is not gathering with me, scatters." This statement invites a "self in context" type of appraisal in terms of association & proximity ("with") and activity ("gathering"). It is both descriptive (this is how it is) and prescriptive (choose your place and your actions).
