Jesus invites everyone to be great in His sight without regard for their outward achievements or the size of their ministry. It will be based on the size of their heart in obedience and love to Him."Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine [Sermon on the Mount], and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. (Mt. 7:24-25) Which road are we going to travel? On which foundation are we going to build? What type of message will we proclaim? The biblical message calls forth humility, poverty of spirit, and makes people cry to God for mercy and to hunger for Jesus and righteous lifestyles.
