Jesus is Risen! He is risen indeed, and God’s will is that we come to a place where, when we approach God, there is no sense that we are being rejected by Him because of our sin and failure. It doesnt mean we dont confess our sin, but that our sin doesnt drive us out of the Presence of God. This is the glorious work of the cross for us. Many people come before the Lord feeling great condemnation for their sin. They don’t come before the Lord with the humility and confidence that says they need help and that they know they have received it. Rather, they come in shame and with feelings of rejection. They come with a consciousness of their sin. But in the sight of God they’re fully clean! Beloved, there are only two positions before God. If you have not received the sacrifice of Jesus on your behalf, then you are 100% guilty, and thus 100% under judgment. If you have, then you are 100% clean in God’s court in the sense that there is nothing separating you from being fully received by Jesus. Yes, God still sees areas of our lives that He wants us to change, but He loves us and enjoys us even in our immaturity and weakness. The Lord sees areas of our thought patterns and our speech that He wants changed. He will even discipline us to correct that area. That is not the same as God driving us out of His Presence and no longer enjoying His relationship with us. He actually enjoys us while He is correcting areas of our behavior. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the God-man, the second Person of the Trinity, we can stand before Him today with confidence to draw near.
