Jesus teaches us how to pray Friday Jesus said, “What father - TopicsExpress

Jesus teaches us how to pray Friday Jesus said, “What father among you would hand his son a stone when he asked for bread.” (Lk 11:11) A bad father…and we would readily condemn such a parent. Most parents have a deep, visceral impulse to care for their children, a love so deep that they cannot separate it from their own selves. If that is what happens with us, weak humans as we are, imagine how deep and passionate is the love that God bears for us. Loving Jesus, let me realise how much God watches over me, like a parent over a child but even more so. Open within me deep wellsprings of confidence in God’s love. Pray the prayer that Jesus taught us: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen Continue your prayer through this day by pondering the depth of love that good parents have for their children. Painting:Old Man Praying, School of Rembrandt.
