But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. —Luke 15:20 (NKJ) The moment we consider doing the thing God has said “Thou shall not do,” we have strayed away from our heavenly Father and His perfect will for us. When we wander off, God looks for us and waits for us to stop being rebellious and turn toward Him with a repentant heart, a heart that is open to the will of God in all areas of our lives. God loves us and has compassion on us. And when we turn toward Him, He will run toward us and embrace us in His loving arms. He will not judge us or condemn us. He will rejoice over us.
