Jesus’ prayer for humanity: “My prayer for all of them is - TopicsExpress

Jesus’ prayer for humanity: “My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father—that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us... I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one as we are…all being perfected into one.” (John 17: 20-23) I am a benefactor of the Lord’s prayer. During the summer of 1982, in my darkest moment, I cried out in desperation and God answered Christ’s prayer. For twenty glorious minutes I was one with Christ on the cross, experiencing His divine love and glory in my heart! Since then, my life has never been the same. It was this life changing experience and the many revelations I received thereafter that inspired me to write “The Divine Summit: A Love Story.” This blog is offered to those individuals who have been touched by my spiritual love story and have a desire to interact with the author and other readers regarding its content. Each week I will share insights from The Divine Summit, drawing on my intense breaking experiences as well as 30 years of counseling Christians. I encourage readers to share their personal awakenings in uniting with Christ. Since my miraculous conversion in 1982, I have been seeking God in earnest and have witnessed first hand the power of God’s grace to heal me of my deepest pain and fears. I’ve not only witnessed my life’s transformation but I frequently experience my exchanged identity in Christ. I’m far from a finished product. God’s grace still has much work to do to free me of my independent, rebellious spirit. I remain attacked on a regular basis, tempted by my old flesh patterns of fear, despair, and loneliness. But the power of sin no longer has a hold on me. I simply catch these lies at the threshold and focus my mind back on who I really am in Christ. This is a truly fascinating healing process. One of my favorite quotes is from the letters written by Sister Elizabeth of the Trinity: “When you are feeling most unhappy think that the divine Artist is fashioning you with his chisel to make his handiwork even more beautiful, and be at peace under the hand that is working on you. So take courage!” Although I find the daily sanctification process a challenging one, my faith in Jesus continues to grow. His sanctifying grace is at work day by day, trial by trial. I sincerely appreciate that my darkest and most painful moments have provided me blessings beyond belief. My focus will be on how people who love Jesus actually experience transformation through grace. I welcome all climbers who are earnestly seeking the Lord and want to ultimately ascend to the divine summit: perfect surrender and union with Christ. All who proclaim that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God … God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them … And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect.” 1 John 4:15—17 Dr. Steven Panzer, January 28, 2014
