Jetts Make A Wish trip was by far, one of the most memorable, - TopicsExpress

Jetts Make A Wish trip was by far, one of the most memorable, amazing, stress free experiences our whole family has EVER had. We stayed at a place called Give Kids The World in Florida. Where all of the Make A Wish families stay when their Wish child chooses Walt Disney World as their wish. I cant even begin to describe what it was like there. They have 144 villas and we occasionally would see an empty one, but not for long. It was crazy! They have 1,500 volunteer shifts per week. Henri Landwirth founded Give Kids The World. He has an incredible story of his own as he was a Holocaust survivor. He was a prisoner in Nazi death and labor camps during WWII between the ages of 13-18. During this time his entire family was killed besides him and his twin sister, Margot. He ended up in hotel management in Florida. Learning about his life was very humbling to say the least. I have so much love for that man. The day we had to leave, I sat down with a lady and she asked me if we enjoyed our stay. I couldnt answer her because I just started crying. Kind of embarrassing. But I was just so grateful. Our family had been given a week of nothing but complete joy. As a mother of a wish child, one of the things I worry about almost every day is Jett having a good life. One filled with no regrets, or we should haves. I feel like The Make A Wish Foundation and Give Kids The World took that responsibility over for a week. I didnt have to worry if he was happy, because other people were doing that. It was amazing for him and the rest of my children. They all received the same treatment. It was beautiful. I wish that it didnt take a terminal disease to have this experience because it is one that all of my family members and friends could use and absolutely deserve. There was so much love there. It was definitely an experience never to be forgotten. A few of Jetts favorite things were Harry Potter World, meeting the Super Heros, feeding the dolphins, going to the beach, getting his face painted, doing almost everything with his dad, eating ice cream every single day (even for breakfast, not every single day), receiving gifts from the fairies every day, seeing Santa, having His Star placed in the Star Tower along with all the other wish kids, going to the front of the line of almost every ride, pin trading, but most of all spending 10 days with his family at the Happiest Place On Earth.
