Jewish Coalition for Syrian Refugees in Jordan In response to the growing humanitarian crisis resulting from Syria’s civil war, ADL has joined with a number of other Jewish organizations to form the Jewish Coalition for Syrian Refugees in Jordan. The destabilizing conflict has reached a dire point: 6.8 million people in Syria are in need of humanitarian assistance and over 1.6 million people have fled to neighboring countries. In Jordan alone, nearly 500,000 refugees have crossed the border seeking safety — and that number could double by the end of 2013. The Jewish Coalition for Syrian Refugees in Jordan will be collecting funds and working with our global partners to deliver vital aid — food, clean water, medical care, shelter, and other relief supplies — to the most vulnerable refugee children and families suffering in Jordan. For more information on the conflict in Syria, please see ADL’s backgrounder (adl.org/israel-international/israel-middle-east/content/backgroundersarticles/syrian-civil-war.html#.UbYfUJxTG4o). More information, along with an online donation page is available on the Jewish Coalition for Disaster Relief webpage, linked below.
