CBC’s sudden decision to cut ties with star host Jian Ghomeshi came after “information” came to the public broadcasters attention that “precludes us from continuing our relationship,” a senior spokesman told the Star. --- He is suing the CBC for $50mn When the courts open Monday, Dentons Canada will file a suit against CBC on behalf of Mr. Ghomeshi, claiming, “general and punitive damages for among other things, breach of confidence and bad faith in the amount of $ 50 million,” reads a news release sent by Mr. Ghomeshi’s publicist, Debra Goldblatt-Sadowski. Mr. Ghomeshi will also pursue a grievance for reinstatement under his collective agreement, the release said.
