Jim Hamilton A long but totally accurate account - - Jim Hamilton No - -@ Judith Henderson ,contrary to your reckoning .Its my Birthday - -It was in 1989 as well,A well planned out day 07:00 am.Early breakfast ,11:00 am,Tee Tops out of 280 ZX Turbo,280 ,to 92 & over to Halfmoon Bay.Watched small planes take off & land -Dead Calm ,12:45 pm, Unlimited visibility,Over to the Pier, -Pacific Dead Calm., No Birds on water,All perched on pillars.a Sea Plane idling across the breakwater inlet to take off,Dead calm 73 degrees,Lunch Barbras sea food.2:00 pm ,Down Hwy One to P town , Bought Specialty bread for my birthday dinner,Back up Hwy One to San Gregorio .East on 84.70 degrees, No wind.3:10 pm driving through RedWoods with my wife thinking this is one of the best 45 th birthdays a guy could have,Id already attended first two World Series Games in Oakland ,via Dumbarton Bridge & Bart .A;s had won handily ,next three tickets Id given my Giants fan friend Russ Scarie,GTE Government System fellow employee .Hes now ( 10/17/89 entering Candlestick looking forward to a rebound by the then Hapless Giants. - -arriving Home @ 16:25.Get my trusty Portable Sylvina radio,(bought @ GTE company store) start my BBQ,Tune in T V , and Prepare for the late afternoon to unfold.73 degrees in RWC on Stockbridge & Sequoia.Games about to start.Preliminaries over & wife comes to hug me at Kitchen window over looking our palatial grounds.A cat in my neighbors drive way started jumping and nearly never touching the ground.retching in air as if to try and fly.Boom a fright train runs through my head,My wife collapses in my arms 100 foot redwood trees are rising and and falling 10 feet as the ground undulates beneath our world.My wife s hair turned white with in 3 weeks in a 5 sq inch spot near her colic .You know the rest.TVs flying straight away from walls stopped in mid air by coixail cable fire place mantel and bricks popping like gun shots from their settings cabinet doors flying off hinges,unworldly gyrations ,beyond my comprehension are still taking place.My wife drops to the floor from my weakened grasp.OMG...there were no storm clouds, no air of ominiss magnitude happenings.On the contrariety It had been a very peaceful pleasant BirthDay up until 17:04 when all hell broke loose. I have another days worth of details , @ 17:12 about riding my motor cycle to pick up my Grand son from day care through panicked hell bent traffic and drivers on Woodside road,But I think Im running long,any one who reads and can relate this event ..Please like and forward to any body..Birth day or Not. - -:^)
