Jim Morrisons last concert, with the Doors, was at The Warehouse - TopicsExpress

Jim Morrisons last concert, with the Doors, was at The Warehouse in New Orleans on December 12, 1970. This concert was the only time Riders on the Storm was ever performed live. The Warehouse was the main venue for rock music in New Orleans in the 1970s. The 1850s cotton warehouse, located at 1820 Tchoupitoulas Street, made rock history when it opened on January 30, 1970, with the Flock, Fleetwood Mac, and the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Deads arrest on opening weekend for drug possession would be immortalized in their song Truckin. On February 1, there was a Bread for the Dead concert to raise money for legal fees. The Flock could not stay but Fleetwood Mac and the Grateful Dead performed, and concluded with an almost 40-minute jam together on Turn on Your Lovelight. On December 12, 1970, four days after his 27th birthday, Jim Morrison gave his final live performance with The Doors at The Warehouse. The Warehouse was finally demolished in April 1989.
